In this Academy of Movement Education Workshop for Teachers, we'll explore the "Pelvic Floor".
Split into three workshops, each session will include anatomical education, movement exploration and time for discussion. While these workshops are not pre/postnatal specific, we will certainly discuss this demographic. test.
Session 1: bones, joints and possible movements of the pelvis (and surrounding)
Session 2: soft tissue and natural/unnatural function of the pelvic diaphragm
Session 3: breath connection and intra-abdominal pressure
Attendees should have at least one year experience teaching movement and a good understanding of the soft tissues in/around the abdomen and pelvis. Body workers/practitioners, such as massage therapists, are also welcome to attend this workshop.
(Check out our course, Foundation, for an in-depth anatomy refresher).
Attendees can request a certificate of completion if they are using this workshop towards CECs. 100% attendance is required to receive a certificate.
Workshops will be recorded, and available to watch for one week after each session. Folks will also be given a link to sign up for an additional 15 minute check-in to address any questions that may have not gotten covered during the live session.
This workshop is taught by Robyn Breen. Robyn has been working at Vitality Wellness Pelvic Health Clinic for the past 5 years as the main instructor for their Postpartum Fitness and Recovery Program. She has been working in the pre/postnatal field as a Pilates specialist for over 9 years and is constantly fascinated by the powerful pelvis. This workshop will be taught in the "Fluid Core" way. Fluid Core is Robyn's interpretation of Pilates and its principles.
